Reel Candy Charity Support
Captain Marvin and Cindy Steiding are pleased to support the following Charitable Organizations:
The Billfish Foundation (TBF) was founded in 1986 with a mission of conserving billfish worldwide by the late Winthrop P. Rockefeller along with Tim Choate, Dr. Eric Prince and a group of fifty founding members. TBF’s keystone program, the traditional tagging program, was begun in 1990. Today, it has grown to be the largest international billfish tagging program in the world.
TBF’s initial focus was on research and educational programs. In 1990, TBF’s focus was expanded to include advocacy for responsible fisheries management, recognizing that influencing decision makers with sound science was a crucial step in successful billfish conservation.
The BlueWater Babes
Bluewater Babes Fish for a Cure – presented by Grand Slam Tackle & Marine Center and the Square Grouper Tiki Bar is Palm Beach County’s premier and highly successful women’s fishing tournament and event. The event features a unique mix of fishing, creative boat decorating, cocktail and costume contests as well as an awards party to raise money for local breast and ovarian cancer patients who are in financial need throughout Palm Beach County.
Bluewater Babes Fish for a Cure raises money for two local charities: Cancer Alliance of Help and Hope and H.O.W. – Hearing the Ovarian Cancer Whisper. Since its inaugural year in 2009, Bluewater Babes Fish for a Cure has raised over $130,000 for these two benefiting charities and with last year’s success, more money than ever was donated to those fighting breast and ovarian cancer in our community.
Make A Wish Foundation
Make-A-Wish® grants the wish of a child diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition in the United States and its territories, on average, every 38 minutes. We believe that a wish experience can be a game-changer. This one belief guides us. It inspires us to grant wishes that change the lives of the kids we serve.
Veterans- Paws for Patriots
Generations of veterans have sacrificially served our country. They leave family, train tough, and survive extreme conditions. Some endure explosions and injuries, and many have lost their vision or suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress. Our Paws for Patriots programs serve active duty soldiers and retired servicemen and women with the respect and dignity they deserve. Veterans have served for freedom’s sake, and now they deserve the freedom to navigate with heads high and renewed confidence.
