Spend a Day... Make Memories for a Lifetime
Payment and Deposit Policy
A Deposit is required in order to secure your date and hold the boat for you. A $350.00 to $500.00 deposit is due to book an offshore trip and a $250 deposit for the inshore/island hopping trips is required. If you are booking multiple days and/or boats or package deals then a 50% deposit of the total trip cost is required at the time you book your trip. You may make your payment online by clicking on the right upper tab that says "Make a Payment". This is a secure credit card processing site and your information is not shared with anyone other than the credit card processing company.
No Fish – No Pay Policy
If we don’t catch fish (“Full Day” trip only), all you pay is a customary tip of 10% of the trip cost each, to the captain and the mate. This guarantee is intended to lower the stress level of booking a charter as a new customer with the Reel Candy Crew. It also proves that we will produce fish for you.
We have confidence that our new customers will appreciate the hard work and effort that The Reel Candy Fishing Team does for them. Each day on the water is a new experience. Although we might have an excellent day one day, the very next day the bite could be extremely slow. But, if The Reel Candy crew Team is skunked, our "Full Day" NO fish Policy goes into effect.
We not only assure you the chance to fish but excellent service, top of the line equipment and good weather (we hope). Each charter will be told about rough seas before the trip begins. The customer has the right to decide whether or not to leave the dock. In some cases, the captain will call the charter off because of bad weather. In either event, the customer will be refunded any and all deposits.
The charter must be based upon a full day (8 hours). The charter customer must let the captain select the species of fish based on the conditions for that day if fishing is slow. Billfishing, Tarpon, Tuna fishing, customer seasickness and angler error are also exempt from our “No Fish – No Pay” Policy. Every angler knows that Billfishing requires patience and determination, and the Reel Candy crew can produce.
Seasickness
We advise our customers who are unsure about Seasickness to take a motion sickness pill the night before the charter and another one, an hour before the charter. Be sure to read the labels. Certain pills have warnings and not all people should take them. They usually work. However, in case of seasickness, the customer has the option to cancel the trip and pay a rate of $200.00 per hour from the time the boat leaves and gets back to the dock. As with any drug, Always check with your Doctor first!
Refund Policy
Deposits are fully refundable if the captain cancels due to wind, high seas or stormy weather. We want you to have a memorable, fun time and if the weather appears to be unsafe or too rough we will try to reschedule your trip. If we cancel due to weather and are not able to reschedule due to continued bad weather, your travel schedule or our boat schedule then your money will be refunded in full.
Trips that are canceled by you, 30 days or more prior to the trip date will be refunded in full, less a 10% credit card/booking fee. If your trip is canceled less than 30 days prior to the trip date, we will be happy to work with you to try and reschedule the trip and move your deposit to a new date. If we are unable to find a mutual date or you cancel the trip completely then your deposit is NOT refundable. Trips canceled less than 7 days prior to your trip date are NOT refundable and NOT transferrable to a later date.
